Hey everyone. It’s been a while since I have written a blog so I thought I’d give you an update as to why I have been missing in action of late! I had an amazing overseas trip where I visited my sister in America. If you are a fan of my Facebook page you may have seen some of the updates. My trip was kid free and let’s just say that while I obviously missed my three beautiful children, I must admit only having to worry about myself for twelve days straight was awesome! I spent many days relaxing in the sun, eating at some fantastic restaurants and playing tourist in Hollywood. One of the best things I did when on my holiday was visit “Tim” a very special man with Down Syndrome who owns his own restaurant in New Mexico. “Tim’s Place” was a wonderful place to visit. Not only was the food delicious but Tim was there on site greeting and talking to everyone as well as giving out his famous hugs! This man is such an inspiration. Not only is he the only man with Down Syndrome in America who owns his own restaurant, but he is also a special Olympian who has won many medals for his country. It was such a pleasure to meet with him and have a chat as well as receive that all important hug from him! If you ever have the chance to visit Albuquerque, New Mexico, make sure you visit “Tim’s Place”. You will love the food and you will most definitely love Tim.
As well as visiting the States, I have also been writing articles for a fantastic website called Mums Lounge. I have posted the links below for the last two articles I have written and if you have a chance check them out. And of course I have been keeping you posted with my video blogs on you tube. The video blogs are short videos aimed at providing some simple tips and strategies to help build children’s communication. I love making these videos and I hope you find them useful!!
Now I am back home and I must say well and truly back to reality. Coming home to children with chicken pox will do that to you!!! Keep an eye out for my next blogs, tips and tricks. And remember you can always contact me via my website with any questions, queries or suggestions on what you might want to see in future posts.
See you soon…
